Archival Storage

I always offer expert recommendations and archival-quality storage options to protect your photos for generations to come.

Why Digitizing First Matters

The most effective way to organize any collection is to bring everything together in one digital
home
. When photos and memories are scattered across boxes, albums, old media, and devices, it
is hard to see the full story.

Digitizing first removes everything from fragile or outdated formats
and places it all in one safe place. Once digital, your memories can be arranged by date, cleaned
up, and made easy to access and enjoy. This protects your history and makes it simple to create
and share albums, slideshows, and meaningful stories with the people you love.

Questions I get Asked on the Regular...

Do I need to organize my photos at all before sending them to you?

Nope! That’s my job! Just hand over your boxes, bins, or albums as they are. I’ve seen everything from neat stacks to “photo avalanches.” No judgment, just progress.

Is my photo collection safe with you?

Absolutely. Everything is carefully handled, tracked, and stored in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment.

How do you organize the digital files?

Digitized images are renamed, dated as accurate as possible and sorted into clearly labeled folders.  I can add keywords that will save to each digitized file so that key information isn’t lost.

What types of materials can you organize and digitize?

If it holds a memory, chances are I can digitize it. Prints, slides, negatives, VHS, Hi-8, MiniDV tapes, scrapbooks, letters, genealogy records and keepsakes. We work together as much as you would like to make sure everything has a

Can you fix or restore damaged photos?

Yes! Restoring photos is one of my favorite parts of the job. We’ll talk about what you’d like improved and how much magic we can bring back to your image. It’s amazing what a little digital TLC can do.

What format do I receive the digital photos in?

You’ll receive high-resolution 600 dpi JPEGs (and TIFFs upon request) on a USB drive or external hard drive, and private download link whatever works best for you.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the size and condition of your collection.  We can do this in one swoop or in segments according to budget.

How should I prepare my photos before handing them off?

Loose photos can go in envelopes or Ziplock bags labeled by event, year, or “mystery pile.” If you don’t have time for that, no worries. Just keep them dry, clean, and together. I’ll take it from there.

What if my photos are stuck in albums?

That’s totally fine. I can scan them right in the album if removal risks damage or gently remove them if that’s best.

Do you offer backup or storage options for my digitized files?

Yes! I can create redundant backups (cloud + physical) so your files are protected like Fort Knox. We’ll discuss what fits your needs and comfort level. We will discuss the 3-2-1 Back Up Plan  together that ensures all bases are covered.

I’m overwhelmed. Can you just take the whole project off my hands?

Yes, please! That’s exactly what I’m here for. From sorting and scanning to labeling and archiving, I handle it all with care. I treat every family collection as if it were my own because I understand that sometimes these photos are all you have left of the people who mean the most.
